During child and adolescent therapy, students often bring up concerns involving their experiences at school. Furthermore, parents frequently seek support for dealing with their child’s affairs. Commonly, children and adolescents struggle to articulate their feelings regarding challenges and the hurdles they must overcome.
Examples of school-related issues:
- Peer relationships.
- Social anxiety.
- Academic performance.
Talking to someone outside of the school environment can allow students to be more honest in identifying the root of their issues with peers or the academic setting. Typically, I help them build executive skills, such as time management and organization, to deal with their problems. I also assist with communication so they can seek additional support at school or at home.
